I watch movies, okay, but not a lot of it sticks when it's the best part of three hours long. I liked the little teddy bear guys from Star Wars! They were cute for a hot second, all,

And the swords? Super cool. Absolutely. Do I cream myself over them? No.
[ this is cheating. cheating because eddie almost loses his footing between the poking and the sound effects, bringing the sword down to make it aside. ]
Ewoks. My man watches Star Wars and remembers Ewoks.
[ He scoops aside Eddie's sword and uses the length of his own blade to shove him against the wall, trapping him there unless he wants to get chopped in half. By foam. Mostly it's Steve's weight doing the work. ]
[ He needs something smaller. Eyeing the "weapons" on the walls here and there, he exchanges his longsword for a sizeable dagger, testing its weight with a toss.
Getting all up in Eddie's space again, Steve's lips twitch as he tries to keep a straight face. He rests a hand in the bend of Eddie's spine, hauling him in. The backroom is quiet with all the nerds having settled down to play their games in the main room and Steve looks determined. ]

[ Smack! Right under the curve of Eddie's ass with the flat of the dagger, driving him closer. ]
[ Steve would do anything to hear that gasp again, zoning out the rest of the world he's been so concerned about. With a groan of longing he buries his face in the curve of a neck and bares his teeth, biting down as if to keep Eddie in place that way.
The dagger clatters to the floor as he gives up defending himself against the stroking motions across his back (traitor!) and on impulse he gives Eddie a thwap with his own hand, clapping down hard on a jean-clad cheek. ]
[ He's rewarded with a gasp and a low moan, both at the bite and the slap. The fingers of his free hand curl in Steve's hair, giving just a little tug.
He's going to rail this boy tonight. It's - pretty much a given. Unless Steve says no. ]
Now who has to be reminded we're in public? [ his voice goes low and husky. ]
[ He noses his way along Eddie's cheek to steal a real kiss, nails raking up his back as Steve indulges in one last moment of making-out not designed for public viewing. His cheeks and shining lips are pink as cotton-candy when he steps back, looking Eddie over like he's fighting everything in him to stay put, every steadying breath falling a little too fast behind his striped polo. Steve plants hands on his hips, tossing the fake dagger aside without a glance. ]

[ He heads toward the door before temptation can kick in again. ]
[ Steve has to resettle his energy somehow and it goes somewhere, with him being honest about knowing next to nothing. He's surprised to see some girls in the shop and gets chatting to them, somehow now the owner of his missing juju once again. It's like an epiphany: nerdy girls like him even if cool girls don't. Huh.
In the midst of flirting over stupid Demogorgon jokes, laughing loudly and hair tossing, he spots Eddie and his grin widens as he holds out an arm. ]
I dunno if you met my boyfriend, this is Eddie. [ Steve fully intends to sling an arm around Eddie's shoulders and reel him into the limelight. Oblivious to some of the suddenly understanding looks the girls share, Steve enthusiastically goes on, ] He's one of the best Dungeon Masters in multiple dimensions. Really knows his shit.
[ there's still that funny little moment when someone publicly acknowledges him that causes Eddie to need to reboot. Even moreso when his boyfriend was just being hit in, and is now singing his praises. ]

[ he loops his arm around Steve's waist, thumb hooking in a belt loop. ]
[ Turns out the flirting only intensifies from the girls once Eddie and his charming smile are in the mix, prompting a mild twist of jealousy in the pit of Steve's gut. It's all friendly and light, but he still drops a kiss on a cheek as Eddie is being asked a thousand questions all at once. Steve decides to do the heroic thing and clears his throat. ]
You should all swap numbers, organize a game. Babe, gimme all the bags, I'll go put them in the car and wait for you there if you want to talk.
[ As much as Steve fully intends to steal all of Eddie's attention once alone, he wants him to have a wider social circle than just him or Billy, people who genuinely love his interests and give him that outlet. Steve knows he can't, so this is his best effort otherwise. ]
I'll be right out. [ Eddie offers his phone out to the girls to enter their numbers. The store owner is already asking him to run a night for them. If only so people can get a taste of the old school game, but Eddie isn't opposed to learning the new shit if it really is easier for normies to grab onto.
He doesn't dawdle too much longer. He has a promise to keep with a boy but he promises to text them when he's got a date pinned down. It's a good feeling. Effortless. Like he's back to being kind of the nerds, cocky and charismatic. ]
